Celebrating 50 Years Service in 2015

In 2015, the Society celebrated 50 years service to the people of Canberra and surrounds.  In March, the Chief Minister presented CCSACT with a Gold Award for service to the community.

Our President, Jackie Warburton, presented her garden to the public on the first weekend in May 2015.  This was a historic event as it was the last 'open garden weekend' in the ACT for the Open Gardens scheme.  During that weekend Jackie spoke to many groups about succulents and Society members sold plants - with  proceeds of the Open Garden event going to the Society's 50 Years celebrations. We thank Jackie and her husband, Brett, for making their garden available and to Society members who helped with sales during the weekend.

On May 17 the Society held a 50-years dinner event for members and friends of the Society. On the night, long-serving members were recognised, and an auction of quality plants raised further funds.
